May of 2001 Deborah Stackhouse organized a rummage sale fundraiser for Shelia Daniels Christian Academy (SDCA). To her surprise this first rummage sale brought in over $8,000. The following year SDCA had another rummage sale that raised several more thousand dollars. In 2002 the vision of opening an ongoing fundraiser in the form of a resale shop was birth. Deborah did not want your typical “weed through the junk” type thrift store. What she wanted was a boutique that carried quality gently used items at affordable prices. However, it was not the right time to move forward with the vision.
The time for the vision to become a reality came in March 2012. Deborah knew that she would need a team to accomplish her goal. The team consisted of Susan Graves, Jan Arnold and herself. For months these ladies worked out the details for what is now “Changing Closets Resale Shop”. Changing Closets’ doors opened July 13, 2013. Customers will find a warm, friendly atmosphere, GREAT bargains and an opportunity to support a notable worthy cause. Make it your destination if you are looking for “a unique experience in resale” shopping.
